Teen Photoshoot at the MN Landscape Arboretum

Miss CJ is going to be turning 14 this week. We celebrated with a portrait session with some of her mom’s favorite kind of flowers, a bridal veil bush. Tween photos are just as important as the newborn and senior images, it’s another milestone. These kids just keep growing up and I am loving watching CJ bloom!198zframe copy

What to Wear for Senior Portraits: Guys

Here are just a few of my senior guys from the Class of 2017! Although you guys may not be as thrilled about your senior photos as the girls, I promise it is possible to have a great time at a photo session! What to wear is just as important for the guys as it is for the girls, since these are photos you will look back on for years to come. Here’s our best tips for helping you look like the proud graduate you are:

-Bring a variety of clothes, with several different styles. Consider bringing a classic sweater or button down, an outfit with an everyday look, a sports uniform, etc. Layers are the best way to get a few different looks with just a couple of pieces, like a blazer. Even if you wear jeans and a tee shirt every day, try a nice button down for a more polished look.

-Wear solid colors, and steer clear of busy prints: Solid, earthy and dark colors will accentuate your facial features and expressions, and not detract from you. Try choosing things that show your personal taste and character, including accessories like hats, your favorite shoes, and your sports equipment.

-Please bring dark t-shirts to wear under dark shirts & sweaters and light t-shirts to wear under light shirts & sweaters. A contrasting undershirt does not look good and is distracting in the final images.

Why Your Personal Brand Matters | Headshot Photographer

When you hire a professional photographer to do your headshots or branding photos, you might think you’re just getting current photos to put on your business cards or promotional materials. Maybe you’re a real estate agent looking for photos for postcards or open house flyers, or maybe you’re a mom who owns her own small business. Guess what? You’re doing more than just taking a headshot! You’re creating your personal brand. And, it matters because it’s the first impression your customers, clients, or friends will have of you! You owe it to yourself to make it a great one.

When you need to establish your corporate presence on LinkedIn, social media, or your website, choose a photographer with experience in helping achieve natural and polished professional portraiture. I specialize in helping you feel comfortable and look your best in front of the camera! Remember, your personal brand matters because it is what people say about you when you are not in the room. What does yours say about you? How do you want to be photographed? How are you going to use these images? These are just some of the questions I will ask as I get to know you and help you put your brand out there!

Let’s get started!
